Happy Pioneer Day!

Today is a day that we celebrate our ancestors. We celebrate their strength, courage and fortitude in crossing the US to claim Zion.  We remember their lives and legacy on this day.

In that spirit I would like to quote a pioneer ancestor who has become very close to my heart. Patience Loader was among the fated Willie/Martin handcart company.

"Every day we realized that the hand of God was over us. . . . We knew that we had not strength of our own to perform such hardships if our heavenly Father had not help us. . . ."

As we go throughout our day and the weeks ahead, lets keep the beautiful perspective and the courage of all the pioneers in hearts.
